Nari’s Water Canteen

CATALOGUE: Item

OWNER: Fuzuwari Nari

DESCRIPTION: A simple 1 quart canteen made of aluminum, being smithed (more precisely handforged) by Nari’s grandfather, Fuzuwari Reizen. The rim’s circumference is quite too big for a canteen, but serves the purpose so that Nari can put her hand inside during purifying. An embriodery around the body to hold the canteen. A simple rope is attached so Nari can sling it and carry the canteen around.

Later on, after her marriage with Jun Mito, another decoration is added around the neck; a piece of black fabric coming from Mito’s doju tie that he tore and dyed with his black scribble ink (through the help of his swordmanship mentor Jianinkori Ryuu). A symbolism for a lucky charm because of Nari’s profession as a traveler and Nam Hinagiku’s companion.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

The water canteen was a gift from Reizen and her both cousins, Fuzuwari Keikashi and Kara, when Nari joined Guild of Aqua Purity after gaining her Aurabreath as an Influencer (and she chose water as her element). Her residency in a foster house instead of under Reizen’s household with her both cousins grew her desire to provide water to everyone, regardless where the source of the water came from. Her curiosity and diligence to attempt purifying with her Influence daily makes her gaining Badge only in age 14 (a prodigy). Scholars of Sorcery theorize that this might trigger her “extreme rare case” in Influence clan.

Due to her trait with her canteen, her family and friends would refer her purified water as “Nari’s water”; delicious and refreshing water like Lau River until they are told where the source came from.
