Zerlina’s Ivory Daggers

CATALOGUE: Weapon

OWNER: Zerlina Tovonin

DESCRIPTION: A pair of dual-wielding daggers with a cone-shaped ivory blade made of ghostbear’s fang. The blade is not to be touched by ANY living surface because of its extremely poisonous trait. A droplet of blood can evaporate from the surface in an eyeblink. Therefore, the hilt is extended which the length surpasses the blade itself to be used non-lethally during combat against an opponent.

It is considered as the most poisonous blade in Variland, surpassing kuuji blade.

ivory blade: made of organic material from a ghostbear’s fang

hilt: made of Khrataya wood, being extended since Zerlina travels with Nam Hinagiku, making it longer than the length of the blade (also for a safety purpose during combat against an opponent)

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Zerlina wanted to create a chemical imbalance reaction that is faster than time to fight against the Sect’s Water Mindbenders. She took a pair of fangs from a dead ghostbear and soaked them inside a jar containing twenty ingredients, all coming from Ivory Woods (one of them was her own hair and Who’s feather — this act didn’t please Oris Tovonov at all). The main ingredient is ghostbear’s blood.

Zerlina soaked them for seven years until the poison is riped.

On the poison

The goal of the poison is to destroy the nerve system from a living thing. Nerve system is an interconnecting structure in every living body, so when it receives contact with the poison, the ompact affects the entire body of the living being.

It only takes a touch as gentle as a brush or poke between a living surface (skin, fur, trunk) and the ivory blade. The impact is a quick decomposition that first, revolving around the touched surface. Then, it devours the entire body, “withering” it. The effect is so fast that an immediate amputation of the touched body is a futile act, because the poison has spread to the entire nerve system before it begins to show the decaying effect.

No antidotes can cure against this poison. Zerlina crafted it with a mind that this poison’s effect can’t be stopped with any antidotes. After all, her goal behind crafting this poison is to create the fastest chemical reaction in the world. That means, nothing can surpass it to stop the effect. Rumor says that the only antidote is the death itself.
